New North Dakota law requires all highway drivers to move over in hazard situations

(Bismarck, ND)  --  A new law means drivers will be required to move over for ALL vehicles sitting on the side of the road with their hazard lights on.

State officials say the new regulation enacted last week accompanies existing law requiring drivers to move over on multi-lane highways and interstates for emergency vehicles.

Under the new law, drivers will now will face a 20-dollar fine if they fail to move for passenger vehicles.

That fine rises to 50 dollars, and two points off your driver's license, if you're spotted failing to move over for emergency vehicles.
