(Bismarck, ND) -- The North Dakota House is proposing a bill designed to address childcare costs and availability.

The nearly 66-million dollar package would give a boost to an existing state program that pays a portion of childcare costs for families with lower incomes.

The bill also includes an allocation to expand the childcare aid program.

Lawmakers say the bill would help fund childcare for about 18-hundred children during the next budget cycle.
