North Dakota oil and gas producers to be slowed by load restrictions

(Fargo, ND) -- North Dakota oil and gas producers are being impacted by annual spring load restrictions.

"What it generally means is a slight decline in production because frack crews can't move the heavy equipment that they need to move in order to frack wells. Water hauling is somewhat restricted," said Lynn Helms, Director of the North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources.

The state department of transportation enacts load restrictions for trucks to reduce damage caused by heavy loads at at a time of year when highway pavements are most vulnerable, due to warming temperatures.
