(Fargo, ND) -- Senator John Hoeven was asked if it's now possible to get some democrats to support current republican priorities in Washington.
"Well I sure hope so. Obviously, we've got the House by a narrow margin. They're working on the debt ceiling issue right now and hopefully getting some reforms to start to get on top of this debt and deficit but of course with the majority democrats in the Senate and in the White House that's who we need to change," said Hoeven.
Hoeven says he hopes Congress can "get back to the fundamentals" that make the U.S. strong, including defense, getting spending under control and securing the border.
The Senator appeared on "What's on Your Mind" on AM 1100 The Flag.
