(Bismarck, ND) -- The North Dakota Office of the Governor is ordering all government flags to be flown at half staff until sunset on Thursday.

The order comes following the fatal mass shooting in Texas, which claimed the lives of nine people - including the suspected gunman. The Governor encourages businesses, homes, and other institutions to lower their flags to half-staff out of respect for the victims of Saturday's shooting.

The order stems from a federal proclamation signed by President Joe Biden. You can read the proclamation by clicking here
