(Minneapolis, MN) -- The children of a man who was killed by police after shooting at them are getting a massive settlement from the city of Minneapolis.

An attorney representing the family says they've settled a unlawful detention lawsuit for $700,000. The suit stated Chiasher Vue's four children where locked in patrol cars for more than five hours and forced to hear their the bullets that killed their father. They were allegedly held in interrogation rooms against their will for several more hours.

The attorney believes this is the biggest settlement to ever come out of a unlawful detention case in Minnesota if not the nation.
