(Bismarck, ND) -- School vaccination rates are dropping at North Dakota's public schools.

North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services officials say vaccine hesitancy has been on the rise since the start of the Covid pandemic. According to the most recent data, traditional vaccination rates for DTaP, polio, MMR, hepatitis B, and chickenpox have dropped by two to three percent since the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines.

State health officials say the local trend is in step with an overall national decline in vaccination rates that was first recognized in late spring and early summer of 2021.
