Vehicle pulled from lake near Hankinson

(Hankinson, ND) -- A man escaped unharmed after he crashed a car into a lake near Hankinson.

Emergency crews were called to Mud Lake early Tuesday on reports of a submerged vehicle. The car was pulled out of the water but nobody was found inside. The driver was later located elsewhere by authorities, and was later cited for reckless driving and failure to report an accident. 

A relative of the man says he was unable to call authorities due to his phone being ruined from the water.
