New COVID-19 variant reported in North Dakota and several other states

(Fargo, ND) -- A new variant of COVID-19 has been detected in several western states including North Dakota and South Dakota.  

Cases of the EU-11 strain have also been confirmed in Utah, Wyoming, Colorado and Montana.  

It is still not known whether there will be different symptoms that emerge in the United States cases of the new strain.  

It's believed EU-11 could more transmissible and at this time the cases of the strain account for eight-point-seven-percent of COVID cases in North Dakota and the other five states named.
