(Fargo, ND) -- Eastern North Dakota Colleges are sounding the alarm in response to the signing Minnesota's free tuition plan.

Five state colleges, including NDSU, spoke to the State Board of Higher Education about the potential impact of Minnesota's new tuition plan - which would make college free for students of Minnesota Families with annual incomes of less than $80,000 beginning in Fall of 2024. The North Dakota colleges cited potential retention issues moving forward, with 52% of NDSU's total student base made up of Minnesota residents.
