West Nile detected in Wahpeton mosquitoes

(Wahpeton, ND)  --  Health officials confirm the West Nile Virus has been detected in mosquitoes tested in Wahpeton.  

City officials say mosquitoes tested on Monday returned with a positive result.  

Earlier this summer the virus was detected in Grand Forks.  

The mosquitoes are most active at dawn and dusk.  

Residents are advised to use an insect repellant with DEET, eliminate any standing water in the yard and stay indoors during the mosquitoes most active time.
