Tou Thao to be sentenced for George Floyd killing

(Minneapolis, MN)  --  Former Minneapolis police officer Tou Thao will be sentenced today for his role in the murder of George Floyd.

He's one of four former police officers charged in relation to Floyd's death, pleading guilty to aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter earlier this year.

While Thao argued that he was only following his police training, a judge called his actions "objectively unreasonable".

He's currently being held Hennepin County Jail, and is already serving a three-and-a-half-year sentence for depriving George Floyd of his constitutional rights.
