North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum visits National Guard troops at southern border

(El Paso, TX)  --  Governor Burgum has been visiting North Dakota National Guard troops stationed along the U.S.-Mexico border.

The governor spent time Monday thanking the troops with the 188th Engineer Company for the work they are doing along the border to try to stop illegal crossings.

Burgum says the mission is a matter of national security.

Today the governor will observe operations and visit with members of the 1st Battalion, 112th Aviation Regiment.
