Former Minnesota Governor dies at 99 year old

(St. Paul, MN) -- A former Minnesota Governor died over the weekend, one month before he would have turned 100 years old.

Al Quie was the state's 35th Governor and a former Republican member of Congress for over 20 years. Quie also served in World War II. The former governor served Minnesota's First Congressional District from 1958 to 1979. 

Quie died at his home in Wayzata surrounded by family.
