Excessive heat warning for southern half of Minnesota

(Minneapolis, MN) -- The National Weather Service is issuing an excessive heat warning for the southern half of Minnesota.

Meteorologists say the Twin Cities could set a daily record high on Tuesday and Wednesday with temperatures reaching 100 degrees. 

Officials say the weather will feel more like 110 to 115 degrees which potentially makes it the hottest feeling day since 2012.

The weather service says the heat warning will be in effect until 10 p.m. Wednesday.
