(Milwauke, MI) -- North Dakota Governor and Presidential Candidate Doug Burgum was in a Milwaukee hospital just before the first National GOP Debate tonight.

Campaign staff say Burgum suffered a leg injury while playing a pick-up game of basketball with staff members. Staffers say he was taken to the emergency room yesterday, but is currently not hospitalized. It's unclear if Burgum will be joining the debate stage tonight due to his injuries, the severity of which are unknown at this time.

North Dakota GOP Chairwoman Sandi Sanford says she is checking with National GOP members for ways to provide potential accommodations at the debate tonight.

The debate is scheduled to start tonight at 8 p.m. central time.
