(Fargo, ND) -- North Dakota Lieutenant Governor Tammy Miller highlighted North Dakota’s leadership in autonomous agriculture and unmanned aircraft systems Monday in Fargo.
"As a state we are very committed to the work that is being done at Grand Farm. We are pleased to say that our Department of Commerce is soon cutting a $10 million matching grant for Grand Farm to help fund the amazing operations there," said Miller.
Miller spoke at the Autonomous Nation Conference at Microsoft.
The lieutenant governor also said the legislature has increased funding for the Automation Tax Credit from $2 million per biennium to $6 million.
Miller says automation will help North Dakota better respond to workforce challenges.
Following Miller's remarks, an official with Grand Farm announced the venture has fully achieved Phase 1 of its Innovation Campus capital campaign.
Phase 1 of the Grand Farm Innovation Campus includes 140 acres of land that will be used for collaboration, research, and demonstrations, and a 25,000 square foot facility to host groups, demonstrate technology, and "upskill" the region.
The site is near Casselton.

Grand Farm is where technology and agriculture unite to cultivate solutions that will resonate for generations to come," said Grand Farm Board Chairman Greg Tehven.
