Minnesota Republicans call for special session to repeal new school resource officer law

(Minneapolis, MN) -- Minnesota Republicans are calling for a special session to repeal the new school resource officer law. The law which was updated this spring prohibits school resource officers from using excessive restraints on the head, neck and torso. Some law enforcement officials say the law change is causing confusion and it prevents techniques that can improve safety. The Republicans are proposing to repeal the law so it would revert back to the original language in the statute.
