Court documents describe alleged Minnesota Medicaid fraud scheme

(St.Paul, MN) -- Eighteen people are facing charges in connection to a nine-point-five million dollar Minnesota Medicaid fraud scheme.

Officials say the charges were filed against the owners and employees of the now obsolete personal care assistant service agency "MN Professional." Investigators say the agency fraudulently billed the Medicaid program for more than 25 thousand hours of services that were never provided. Investigators also say MN Professional went years without any supervision by a certified medical professional.

Officials say five of the 18 people charged in the case have pleaded guilty.
