ND Natural Gas production sets monthly gas capture record

(Bismarck, ND) -- North Dakota's natural gas production is setting a monthly record in the state.

According to the North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources, production of natural gas statewide increased by 1% in July, making for a total of 101.98 billion cubic feet produced in the month. Lynn Helms, The President of State Minneral Resources, says the amount of gas captured is unprecedented.

State energy leaders with the North Dakota Petroleum Council call the level of gas capture "truly impressive." July marks the first time the state has produced more than 100,000,,00 MCF (one thousand cubic feet) of natural gas in one month.
