North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum criticizes President Biden's electric vehicle push

(Fargo, ND) -- North Dakota Governor and republican presidential hopeful Doug Burgum is criticizing the Biden Administration's policy on electric vehicles.

"Biden's energy plan to 'climate-proof the world' is to have us start all using EVs which are subsidized with taxpayer dollars and the batteries are coming from China and those batteries will be made in a plant powered by coal," said Burgum.

Burgum says China is opening two coal plants a week.

He says instead of buying EV batteries from China, the U.S. should be selling "clean coal" technology to the Chinese as part of a strategy to reduce CO2 emissions.

Burgum made the comment while appearing on The Flag's "What's on Your Mind".
