Illegal immigrants now eligible to receive Minnesota driver's licenses

(St. Paul, MN)  --  Illegal Immigrants are now eligible to obtain a Minnesota driver's license.

The new law went into effect Sunday after the legislation passed earlier this year.

Unauthorized immigrants can now start taking the written exam required to gain a state driver's license.

Applicants can schedule an appointment online at drive-dot-mn-dot-gov.

They also must provide two documents with their full name and birth date such as an unexpired passport, birth certificate, or permanent resident card.
