(Edinburg, ND) – A beloved school dog in a rural northeast North Dakota school district has gone missing.

The Valley-Edinburg Public School District announced Tuesday morning that Mac, the school’s Golden Retriever, got out of his fence and has been missing since 11 a.m. Monday.

“Although we like to think he is just on an adventure somewhere between our school towns, we need to also consider that he may have been picked up,” the school district posted in a message to patrons on its social media early Tuesday morning.

Valley-Edinburg Superintendent Kierstin Hurtt tells WDAY Radio that the district has not received many leads. Anyone who may have information about Mac’s whereabouts is asked to call Hurtt at 701-331-9861.
