Bemidji Police: Female juvenile found to be lone victim of September 23 sexual assault

(Bemidji, Minn.) – Bemidji Police say one person has confirmed to be the lone victim of a sexual assault on September 23 in the city.

According to a press release issued Wednesday morning by Bemidji Police, officers and investigators were able to identify a home in the 1800 block of America Court as the location where the assault of the female juvenile victim took place. A search warrant was executed and one individual, 22-year-old Oscar Ernesto Luna, was located. He matched the description of one of the suspects described by the victim.

Luna, from Texas, was subsequently arrested and has been charged with first degree criminal sexual conduct.

During the search, 12 other individuals were located and identified. None were immediately identified as suspects, and 11 of them were turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol.

Police say the incident appears to be isolated.
