Lawsuit highlighting inmate deaths filed against Minnesota Department of Corrections

(Plymouth, MN) -- Two Twin Cities area jails are being sued for mistreatment of inmates.

Wednesday afternoon, prosecutors were outside the Minnesota Department of Corrections to get information about the increase in jail deaths in Ramsey and Hennepin Counties. In the suit, the attorney's highlight the death of Dillon Bakke, who they claim didn't receive treatment after sharing his concerns about a head injury. Bakke later died from a brain hemorrhage. 

Minnesota has seen 15 deaths in its jails in 2023.
