North Dakota impaired driving enforcement results in more than 300 citations

(Bismarck, ND) – More than 300 citations were issued in a nearly month-long campaign by law enforcement agencies across the state focused on deterring motorists from impaired driving.

According to the North Dakota Department of Transportation, 40 of the citations were arrests for driving under the influence. Alcohol-related charges also included 26 arrests or citations for minor in consumption, minor in possession and open container. Additionally, the enforcement period, which ran from August 18 through September, resulted in 17 drug-related arrests.

Vision Zero North Dakota says 81 vehicle fatalities have happened in North Dakota this year.
