Minnesota Senator Tina Smith to join picketing UAW workers at GM facility

(Hudson, WI)  -- U.S. Minnesota Senator Tina Smith is expected to join protestors today at the General Motors facility in Hudson, Wisconsin.  

Members of the United Auto Workers union and Detroit's big three car companies are into the third week of a strike.  

Smith's office says that several of the plant's workers live in Minnesota.  

The senator also serves on the Senate Labor Committee, where she has worked to further legislation to strengthen collective bargaining rights.
