Authorities looking for hit-and-run injury crash suspect in Wahpeton

(Wahpeton, ND) – Authorities with the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Richland County Sheriff’s Office and the Wahpeton Police Department are seeking assistance from the public with locating the suspect vehicle and driver involved in a Thursday evening crash in Wahpeton.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 7:40 p.m. in the 400 block of 11th Avenue South. The accident involved a vehicle and a pedestrian. The crash happened on the north side of the Wahpeton Airport.

The Patrol says a dark colored ¾ to one ton pickup with a loud exhaust was eastbound on 11th Avenue South, when the pickup struck a female pedestrian that was walking along the south side of the roadway.

The pickup fled the scene eastbound on 11th Avenue South and then turned northbound on one of the streets to the east of the crash. The pickup will have damage to the front passenger side, along with possible windshield damage.
