North Dakota oil production rises 3%

(Bismarck, ND) -- The state director of mineral resources says oil production in North Dakota rose three-percent in August over production in July.

Lynn Helms says the drilling rig count in the state as of Thursday, October 12th, was 38.

The state produced about one-point-two-million barrels of oil every day during August.

After a record-breaking July, natural gas production showed a less than one-percent increase in August.
