Produced water spill bigger than 1st reported in McKenzie County

(McKenzie Co., ND)  --  A spill of produced water in McKenzie County is much larger than officials first reported.

 Produced water is saltwater that often contains oil and other chemicals.  The initial report from Caliber Midstream estimated 100 barrels measuring about 4,200 gallons spilled earlier this month.  

Those numbers changed on Friday to over 1,400 barrels and more than 60,000 gallons of produced water was spilled.
