Prison for member of prominent Minnesota horse racing family

(Minneapolis, MN)  --  A member of one of Minnesota's successful horse racing families is going to prison.

Jason Bullard was sentenced to four years behind bars in federal court in Minneapolis after pleading guilty to wire fraud.

The defendant confessed to running a Ponzi scheme that cheated dozens of investors out of millions of dollars.

Bullard was also ordered by the judge to pay restitution.

His Empire Racing Stables LLC was once one of the top winners at Canterbury Park, until the State Racing Commission suspended its license in September 2021.
