UPDATED: ND Highway Patrol: One dead and another seriously injured after ejection from vehicle crash

(Updated: 10:30 a.m.) -- The names of two people involved in a fatal crash near Oriska are now released.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says Tim Johnson (50, Valley City, ND) was traveling westbound on I-94 in Barnes County near mile marker 301 when he lost control of the vehicle on an ice covered roadway. The vehicle began to spin, entered the north ditch and rolled. Both Tim and Kerri Johnson (42, Valley City, ND) were ejected from the vehicle during the rollover.

Both Tim and Kerri were transported to Mercy Hospital in Valley City after the crash. Tim was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Kerri was transferred to Sanford Hospital in Fargo via Air Med with serious injuries. 

The crash remains under investigation.

(Barnes County, ND) -- One person is dead following a rollover crash in Barnes County.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, it happened on I-94 near Oriska early Saturday morning, when a person driving a pickup truck hit a patch of ice on the interstate. The truck veered off the roadway into a ditch and flipped, ejecting both the driver and passenger. Both were taken to the hospital, where the driver later died and the passenger was treated for serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
