(Bismarck, ND) -- The North Dakota Housing and Finance Agency has distributed critical funds to support a variety of homelessness initiatives in the state.

The $486,000 comes from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The money can be used to bolster emergency shelters, homeless prevention, or rapid re-housing for people in emergency situations. Another influx comes from the North Dakota Homeless Grant, for which the legislature appropriates funds.

“The transition of administration for ESG and NDHG is a significant step toward a more efficient and integrated approach to addressing homelessness and providing essential services to those in need," said Dave Flohr, the Executive Director of the North Dakota Housing Finance Agency.
