Former North Dakota state lawmaker accused of using taxpayer dollars to travel to Prague

(Bismarck, ND) -- A former North Dakota lawmaker accused of traveling out of the country to have sex with a minor is facing new allegations.

Newly released documents show Ray Holmberg reportedly used taxpayer dollars for at least four trips to Prague, the same city he is accused of trying to commit child sex crimes.

The travel receipts state the trips were in 2011, 2016, 2018 and 2019.

The Forum says a federal indictment unsealed this week also charged the former Grand Forks senator with trying to receive child porn.

The trips were paid for through funding approved by the state Legislature.
