Thousands of new Minnesota state flag options available for viewing

(St. Paul, MN) -- State officials are considering more than two-thousand design submissions for Minnesota's new state flag.

Submissions were made public on Wednesday. The original Minnesota flag was created in 1893, showing an image depicting a Native American leaving land being utilized by a white farmer. The original flag was changed slightly in 1983 to depict the Native American also existing on the land, instead of leaving the area like flag originally depicted.
