(St. Paul, MN) -- State officials are considering more than two-thousand design submissions for Minnesota's new state flag.
Submissions were made public on Wednesday. The original Minnesota flag was created in 1893, showing an image depicting a Native American leaving land being utilized by a white farmer. The original flag was changed slightly in 1983 to depict the Native American also existing on the land, instead of leaving the area like flag originally depicted.
The 13 members of the State Emblem Redesign Commission will vote on a new flag design. You can look at the submissions for Minnesota's new flag designs by clicking here.
