(St. Paul, MN) -- The state of Minnesota is set to re-issue nearly 150,000 rebate checks that haven't been cashed since being issued in September.

The Department of Revenue says the original checks are about to hit their 60-day expiration date. The agency says some Minnesotans may have thrown their checks away because they thought it was junk mail, while others have sent their checks back to the state because of their personal beliefs.

One batch of new checks will go out this month and another set will be sent out early next month.
