(Bismarck, ND)  --  North Dakota's largest airports and police agencies are preparing for what is expected to be one of the busiest travel weekends in many years.

Triple-A estimates over 55-million people will travel between Wednesday and Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend with about 49-million of those taking to the road.

American Airlines, Delta and United expect over 20-million passengers combined in a two-week period that includes Thanksgiving.

Hector International in Fargo has seen record passenger numbers the first half of the year.

Officials at Grand Forks Regional, Bismarck Airport, Dickinson and Minot are hoping Thanksgiving is the beginning of a busy holiday travel season.
