(St. Paul, MN) -- Minnesota officials plan to announce a big donation to the state's regional food banks.

Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan are scheduled to announce a five-million-dollar allocation to the seven food banks this morning. The money will come from American Rescue Plan Act funding. It's the second time this year that the governor has sent money to the state's food shelf program.

He signed a law that sent five-million dollars in emergency funding to those organizations in March.
