North Dakota airline boardings continue upward trend

(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota’s airline passenger traffic continued an upward trend in October, according to information released by the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission (NDAC) earlier this month.

According to the NDAC, commercial airline board numbers for October 2023 represents a growth of seven percent from the same period in 2022. More than 100,000 passengers boarded commercial airlines in October. Of North Dakota’s eight commercial service airports, six had higher passenger numbers in October than during the same period in 2022.

The last time that North Dakota surpassed 100,000 passenger boardings during the month of October was in the pre-pandemic year of 2019 when the state experienced 102,240 boardings.

Hector International Airport saw a monthly passenger record for the month of October, with 43,332 passenger boardings — shattering the previous record by nearly 4,000 passengers, set in October 2019.
