Poll showing potential race between Biden and Trump within three percentage points

(St. Paul, MN) -- A MinnPost poll is showing the race  between the two highest supported candidates is going to be closer than expected.

Voters in Minnesota still support President Biden more than former President Trump, but the gap is very narrow.  That's the finding of a new MinnPost poll, which shows Biden with 45-percent support while Trump comes in at 42%. The difference is within the poll's margin of error, making next year's potential presidential race a virtual toss-up.

The same poll found that 54% of Minnesotans would support a state constitutional amendment protecting abortion rights, while 34% of voters strongly or slightly oppose such a measure.
