Overdose cases have spiked in Grand Forks

(Grand Forks, ND)  --  Authorities in Grand Forks have seen a sharp uptick in overdose cases in the last three weeks.

Police have responded to eight overdoses which is a significant increase compared to the 24 cases the rest of the year.  Prior to this rash of calls, Grand Forks Police hadn't had an overdose call since June.  Officials say there could be more overdoses than those reported because many could be resolved by someone administering Narcan or Naloxone and not calling emergency responders who would document the call.
