ND lawmaker urges support for measure to curb federal overreach on land-use issues

(Bismarck, ND)  --  Senator Kevin Cramer and like-minded lawmakers are urging their colleagues in Washington to support the Farmers Freedom Act of 2023.  Sponsors say the measure would require the Biden Administration to revert to the traditional definition of "prior-converted cropland."   Supporters of the measure claim the current definition applied by the Biden administration lacks the appropriate level of clarity farmers and ranchers need to ensure they can comply with existing regulations.  That clarity would enable them to make decisions with the knowledge they won't be subjected to more aggressive legislation in the future.

White House sources say the extra regulations support a clean environment.
