Investigation continues in deadly highway crash involving son of Senator Kevin Cramer

(Mercer Co., ND)  --  The North Dakota Highway Patrol continues its investigation of a pursuit of a stolen vehicle that ended with a Mercer County sheriff's deputy being killed in a crash.  

The son of Senator Kevin Cramer, Ian Cramer, was the alleged driver of the vehicle last night that veered off a road in Hazen during a chase and hit a patrol vehicle that hit the deputy.  

The deputy was outside of his car preparing to lay spike strips to disable the suspect's vehicle.  

Senator Cramer is returning to North Dakota from the nation's capital to be with his family and in a statement asked for prayers for his family and the family of the deputy killed in the tragedy.
