(Lake Ashtabula, ND) -- Two fishermen had to be rescued from Lake Ashtabula over the weekend after a sheet of ice broke away from the shore Saturday night.
The two men heard a loud cracking sound and realized sometime later that the sheet of ice they were on had separated from the shore, leaving them stranded. They posted a message to social media asking for help, and first responders were able to get to the two men by boat and rescue them. The rescue effort took more than two hours.
Nobody was injured in the incident.
