Funeral arrangements are set for a North Dakota National Guard member who was killed in a shooting in Minot last week.
The funeral for Master Sergeant Nicholas Van Pelt will take place in Minot on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Our Redeemer's Church.
Van Pelt was an Air Force Veteran, a former Ward County Sheriff's Deputy, and was active with the 219th Security Forces Squadron stationed at Minot Air Force Base.
He received a law enforcement procession from Bismarck to Minot last Wednesday.
Many people lined the streets to pay their respects.
A suspect has been arrested in connection with Van Pelt's death.
