EAST GRAND FORKS, MN - Authorities have released the name of the man shot and killed by officers in northwestern Minnesota's Polk County Tuesday. He was Lucas Paul Gilbertson, 42, of rural East Grand Forks. The shooting happened while the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, East Grand Forks Police and the Pine to Prairie Drug Task Force were executing an arrest warrant at a home. Gilbertson was taken to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks where he died.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating what led up to the shooting.
