Injured Army pilot, North Dakota native may be transferred

(Grand Forks, ND)  --  An Army pilot and North Dakota native critically injured in the Middle East may be arriving stateside soon.  

Chief Warrant Officer 4 Garrett Illerbrunn of Cavalier County was injured in a Christmas Day attack in northern Iraq.  

He has undergone multiple brain surgeries while being treated in Germany.  

Now it appears Illerbrunn will be transferred this week from Germany to Walter Reed Hospital in Maryland for continued care.  

He has been taken off sedation and is breathing on his own.
