DEA: Deadly doses of fentanyl recovered in North Dakota

(Bismarck, ND)  --  The number of fentanyl pills seized in a five-state area including North Dakota increased by 83-percent in 2023.

The DEA Omaha Division released data yesterday showing authorities seized about 2.9-million-doses of fentanyl in pills and powder last year from North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and eight counties along the western border of Illinois and Wisconsin.

Fentanyl is the leading cause of death for Americans between the ages of 18 and 45 and a lethal dose of just two milligrams can fit on the tip of a pencil.
