Circle of Friends closes adoption center, eliminates CEO position

(Grand Forks, ND) — The Circle of Friends Animal Shelter has made some changes.

At its regular meeting Wednesday, the board of directors decided to close the Circle of Friends Adoption Center, located at 910 South Washington Street.

“The specific date is yet to be determined, but we commit to keeping you informed as our plans take shape,” a post on the shelter’s social media read Wednesday night.

Additionally, due to financial constraints, the board has made the difficult decision to eliminate the CEO position at Circle of Friends, the Shelter said.

“Lauralee Tupa, an outstanding CEO, deserves immense appreciation for the countless hours she has devoted to serving the Grand Forks community,” the board said in the announcement.

The shelter said more adjustments “will be necessary in the future.”
