(Fargo, ND) -- Former North Dakota state lawmaker Dr. Rick Becker says cutting back on spending will be a priority if elected to North Dakota's sole congressional seat.

"I think that it's long past time for us to completely rethink how we do foreign aid, frequently sending money to our adversaries," said Becker.

The conservative republican is running for the seat currently held by Kelly Armstrong, who is running for governor.

Becker is also currently leading the petition drive aimed at abolishing property taxes in the state.
